The band was founded by Twan van der Heijden and Cees Michielsen after they met in October 1977. Together with Bert Vermijs, they formed King's Ransom. Shortly after, Jos Hustings joined the lineup, which was also known as "Carmine Queen." The members adopted a new name composed of the initials of their old names: King's Ransom and Carmine Queen.
The band preferred not to perform live, and only did so four times. They did record a debut album. After three days of rehearsals, Circumvision was recorded and released in 1978. 500 copies were pressed. The album received a positive review in the British magazine Sounds. Consequently, some 40% of the LPs were sold in the United Kingdom.
The band disbanded in 1979. Since then, they have reunited twice for a one-off performance: in 1980 under the name Silent Revolutions, followed by the recording of Cellar Tapes, and in 2003 for the reissue of their LP Circumvision on CD.
