Biography:

Christian Berishaj, better known by his stage name JMSN (pronounced Jameson), is an Albanian-American singer-songwriter and record producer from Eastpointe, Michigan. JMSN is also a multi-instrumentalist, music engineer and mixer and his debut album Priscilla was released in 2012. He wrote and produced the album himself and also directed the music videos accompanying the release.

Berishaj grew up in Eastpointe, Michigan with his mother, Crystal Lutz, and his first stepfather. Lutz and Berishaj later left him because he was physically abusive. They relied on welfare to get by.

By the age of 18, Berishaj had written and recorded an entire album, Love Arcade, on which he plays all the instruments. After turning down an offer from Sony Records in 2005, he and his band were signed to Atlantic Records. His demos impressed David Wimmer and Leslie Dweck of Atlantic, who were impressed by Berishaj's drive and ambition. Love Arcade was released in 2006 under the name Love Arcade. The other members only acted as a touring band and did not play on the record. In the group, he was known as Snowhite. After three years, the band broke up.

Berishaj left Detroit for Los Angeles. He began working on his solo debut with Luke Walker of The Summer Obsession. His song “1, 2, 3, Turn Around” was featured in the 2009 film “Fired Up.” He used the money he earned from the licensing to finance a music video for the song “When She Turns 18,” which led him to sign with Universal Motown Records as Christian TV in January 2010. He made his television debut by performing “When She Turns 18” live on So You Think You Can Dance.

In October, Berishaj released his first mixtape “Who The F*ck Is Christian TV” for free. During this time, he also toured in the UK as the opening act for Pete Wentz and his new band Black Cards. Berishaj began work on his debut album Diary of an '80s Baby with production from Kevin Rudolf, No ID, co-production with Luke Walker and Berishaj himself. He also co-wrote a song for Japanese pop singer Hitomi’s album Spirit. Universal Motown later disbanded and he did not appear on the rosters of the resulting Universal Republic Records or Motown Records. In 2013, his North American tour took him to over 20 different cities, where he headlined and opened for various acts.

After leaving his label, Berishaj started his own label White Room Records and adopted the name JMSN. In early 2012, he released his debut album †Priscilla†. The album was written and produced by Berishaj himself and is of the R&B genre as opposed to the pop-rock and electropop of his previous projects. He also explores darker emotional themes in his lyrics over melancholic melodies and beats that The Guardian described as “spaced out” and compared to fellow R&B artist The Weeknd. Self-directed videos for “Alone”, “Hotel” and “Something” were released to accompany the album’s release, while a video for “Girl I Used to Know” was released under his previous stage name. In April, R&B singer Usher told NME that JMSN was his “favourite new act”.In April, R&B singer Usher told NME that JMSN was his “favourite new act”.In April, R&B singer Usher told NME that JMSN was his “favourite new act”.In April, R&B singer Usher told NME that JMSN was his “favourite new act”.In April, R&B singer Usher told NME that JMSN was his “favourite new act”.In April, R&B singer Usher told NME that JMSN was his “favourite new act”.In April, R&B singer Usher told NME that JMSN was his “favourite new act”.

On December 9, 2014, Berishaj released his second album The Blue Album. In 2015, he toured to promote the album. On March 1, 2016, Berishaj released the soulful and jazzy single “Cruel Intentions”. The release of this song was followed by the singles: “Most of All”, “Hypnotized” and a Snoh Aalegra remix of “Cruel Intentions”. The first three songs were included on JMSN's third album, It Is. which was released on May 6, 2016.

JMSN has been one of the most sought-after performers and producers in the music industry for a while now. He managed to build an impressive live reputation in recent years and that is of course also due to his signature sounds. Legends like Kendrick Lamar, Mac Miller, J. Cole, The Game, Tyga, Ab-Soul, Kaytranada, Sango and Ta-ku already call him 'the artists' favorite artist' so one not to miss.
